We would appreciate you getting involved.

Our Vision:

Ghana Diaspora Women Organisation (GDW) is a global non-partisan organisation that seeks to empower women and girls both in the diaspora and Ghana to develop more of a keen interest in participating in decision-making and governance processes. GDW is focused to do research on women’s experiences in policy-making in Ghana and how through advocacy and outreach we can inspire many more who will develop an interest and the confidence to aspire to go into Parliament. This we believe will create an opportunity to generate government commitment, partnership and networks in fulfilling policies that will promote the affairs, interests and rights of all Ghanaian Women and girls particularly that of the underprivileged in our society.

GDW Safeguarding and Child Policy:

Policy Statement:

Ghana Diaspora Women believes that it is always unacceptable for a woman,  child or young person to experience abuse of any kind and recognises its responsibilities to safeguard the welfare of all women and children by a commitment to practices, which protects them. For this reason any kind of abuse to any Ghanaian woman or child, be it home or abroad that comes to the attention of GDW will be addressed and reported to the necessary authorities home or abroad.

Definition of Abuse: Check World Health Organisation Website

Education and empowerment of women and girls is pivotal and will further enhance sustainable development in our communities. As such our commitment as an organisation is to reach as many women and girls as we can both home and abroad to shift the paradigm and increase female presence in policy-making.

We seek to achieve this through amplifying the voices of women as agents of change so that we can keep the conversation alive and ongoing.

Ghana Diaspora Women fights for greater commitment, increased governmental will and overall improved livelihood for under privileged women and girls in Ghana. It raises awareness by highlighting field projects, training youth advocates, engaging policy makers and private sector on issues that affect the under privileged females in our society and creating a forum for collaboration and idea generation and sharing to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.

Some of these areas are

  • Maternal Child Deaths
  • All forms of abuse
  • Gender inequality
  • Persons living with disabilities
  • Special Educational Needs
  • Schools under trees
